Start your day by getting the historic train from Palma to the town of Soller. Take some time to wander around the boutique shops, and relax in Plaça de la Constitució. At midday, catch the tram to Port De Soller for some lunch and a relaxing time on the beach. You can then either get a bus back to Soller or return your journey on the train.

Camp de Mar – Day Trips from Palma

If you are looking for the perfect place to relax by the sea, then head to Camp De Mar. It is about a 30-minute drive from Palma, in the north of Mallorca. It is home to plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes, but perhaps the biggest draw is the infamous Restaurante Ileta. This stunning restaurant sits out to sea and is accessed by a small jetty.

Combine a visit to the restaurant (make sure to book in advance) with an afternoon on the beach, giving you one of the most perfect day trips from Palma.

Valldemossa

One of Mallorca’s prettiest villages, Valldemossa, is well worth adding to your list of day trips from Palma. It could also be visited in half a day if you are short on time.

This charming little town is nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains and feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of Palma. It is a picture-perfect village, and once you arrive, you feel like you have stepped into a fairytale. 

Make sure to visit one of the most famous and popular things to do in Valldemossa, the Royal Carthusian Monastery, which is an imposing brick building set right in the middle of the village. Built in the 14th century by the King of Mallorca, it then became home to Carthusian monks. Other places to head to are the Palace of King Sancho, the Chopin Museum and try “coca de patata” at Ca’n Molinas.

Deia

Deia is a charming little village perched in the mountains in the north of the island, and is known for attracting a crowd of creative writers and artists.

Winding cobbled streets, honey-coloured stone houses and dramatic views down to the sea give it a quietly romantic feel, while its slower pace makes it the perfect place to indulge in a long lunch or a coffee in the sun. If you have time, it’s well worth adding on a visit to the village and a swim at Cala Deià, a small pebble beach just below, where crystal-clear water and a handful of rustic restaurants complete the experience.

Pollenca

This charming town in the north of the island is also known as Pollensa or Pollença. Pollenca is known for its picturesque old town, cobbled streets, and historic significance. It is around 35 miles from Palma, making it another of the easy day trips from Palma.

Pollença is easy to explore on foot, with everything within walking distance, so there’s no need to worry about getting lost. However, make sure not miss the Plaça Major right in the heart of the town. Afterwards, head to the Calvari Steps. Which is one of the most famous landmarks in Pollenca. Made up of 365 stone steps, this steep staircase leads to a small chapel perched high on the hill, and is often completed as part of a pilgrimage. Finally, stop by the Old Roman Bridge, which is said to date back to the Roman times (hence the name), although there is no record of it before the 14th century.
